Enjoy golfing in Salzburg on one of your holiday resort's most beautiful courses in the middle of the Alps.
The golf course
Newly designed by Robert Trent Jones jun., since 2000 this golf course in Salzburg Klessheim has presented itself wide and picturesque in the middle of the city of Mozart and yet in a green environment.
The 9-hole facility dates back to the year 1955 although the American army has already built a “club hut” in the palace garden 10 years before.
Today you enjoy your game breaks in the newly constructed club house, a true “pearl” in the Salzburg, and more general the Austrian, golf landscape.
Visit the Golf & Country Club Salzburg's official website for further information and take a glimpse at the birdie book.
In Salzburg you enjoy golfing on historic grounds: in the middle of the idyllic garden of baroque Klessheim Palace.
The palace was built as a maison de plaisance by Fischer von Erlhach for Archbishop Johann Ernst Thun in the early 18th century and is considered to be a baroque architecture landmark in Salzburg.
From the driveway with its magnificent Tritonen Fountain, to the loggia and the entrance area to the impressive staircase, this palace still stands for lordly and barque pomp.
Already at the palace's driveway you will be reminded of its historic significance: the emblem of one of the former owners, Archbishop Leopold Anton von Firmian, who also built Leopoldskron Palace, can be found in shape of a lying deer on the driveway's outer plinths.
